38 - Mt Lawley Next Step Drug & Alcohol Services

This former drug and alcohol services remained vacant between 2017 and 2021. It was demolished in May 2021.

Next Step provides a range of treatment services, both inpatient and outpatient at their East Perth clinic as well as at a number of metropolitan locations.

The Mt Lawley head office was more for Alcohol and Drug Information Services, like a starting point for those wanting to know more about their services and where to get help.

Construction of the new apartment complex has since been completed.

November 2021

Preparation for the start of the No.7 Field Street redevelopment project's construction begins.

The development application was lodged on 22 October 2020 for an apartment complex consisting of 24 multiple dwellings and six grouped dwellings at a cost of $14 million. It was approved on 11 February 2021.

These photos were cleared for release by the Site Manager shortly after they were taken.

Whilst photos of people aren't usually published on this website, I've blurred the faces of the those involved with building the tower crane. Whilst some were okay to have their faces shown at the time, they may have since changed their minds. Others preferred to be blurred out.

Very few people will get to see how a tower crane is put together. Despite the limited details, a photographic sequence will give an idea of how it's done.
