Mount Lawley Graffiti House

Described as a Federation Arts and Craft style house with the typology of a Queen Anne bungalow, very little of this house appears to be worth keeping today, as a result of its degradation over time. This area that forms Mt Lawley, was once known as the East Norwood Estate, which began development from 1898. It is believed the house was constructed sometime between 1900 and 1920.

The Town of Vincent heard an application recently for a request to remove the house from the City's Muncipal Heritage Inventory. It has been listed since September 2006 and removal of the listing would see the house, set on a 417m² block of land, demolished for development work to finally begin.

The only property listing for the house is for March 1998, when it sold for $240,000.

In August 2020, the brick wall of various heights that surrounded the property, was broken down to a mere 40-60cm and the wooden gate removed. Partial wire fencing was installed around the house. Squatters have been living on and off these premises for a very long time.
