North Fremantle Caltex-Viva Energy

There was once 19 oil tanks on this side of the North Fremantle block, which once belonged to Shell Australia before being bought by Viva Energy. Of course, the history goes a helluva longer way in time but oneday, that'll be struck off my To Do List and fully researched.

I would've loved to have seen this site when all the oil tanks were still onsite. All but one was demolished in October 2017, which was years before I started taking urban history photos. I'm certainly very thankful I was able to photograph that one last oil tank and with a glorious sunset, which will forever be etched in my mind.

By mid-2022, it was all gone and remediation began.
